considering swapping a 4.0 from a '04 grand cherokee to my wifes '99 grand cherokee,both are 4.0 auto..any problems i may have??? any input will be helpfull,possibly doing it next weekend,thanx | |

Well they"re both WJ's so thats good. I've read that the blocks are from different castings (99-00 and 01-03 same), so motor mounts might be different and some accessories might mount up different. Do you know if that gets rid of the 0331 head? And curious is that why your replacing it. | |

04 was hit pretty hard in back end but great shape other than that with 80k miles with all engiine and trans maintenance work,99 has 225k ,trans slips somtimes and engine starting to smoke a bit,with both being wj's i figured it should be a easy swap

How is the engine swap going? While your at it get rid of the oil filter adapter and screw the oil filter right in to the engine block. | |

engine swap is post poned for a week or so.........'ol blue needs my attention now,its priority,lol
