Anybody out there know whats involved with shortening a ford 9 inch axle down to jeep width, say 60 inches.  I had a lincoln housing given to me and it looks like it is offset by about 2 inches.  I don't have the center section but the pics I've seen look like it might be offset too.  The housing has 3 inch tubes with 28 spline shafts.  That's about all I know about it.

I got my LP 9 out of an early bronco, it fits my Sonoma well, though I have never measured it.
